Still hankering for something to read this summer? Never really sure what the buzz was about the National Book Award? The National Book Foundation has been established over the years for recognizing great works of literature and since the first National Book Award ceremony in the spring of 1950 in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel this organization has been giving out annual awards.Now that is several award winning books to get caught up on your reading list, but the National Book Foundation has created a book a day blog highlighting the fiction winners of the National Book Award from 1950-2008. The blog will run from July 7 through September 21 and you can click on the cover to get more information about the book and the author so you can see if you would like to read it- see one you like- e-mail me willowc@missouri.edu and I will check and see if we have it in stock or order it for you.
